About

I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Brandeis University with a BA in Music and now strive to keep music at the forefront of my life and the lives of others. In the past, I ran the music program at Saint Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven, a private Catholic school for under-served youth. Working with kids and helping to nurture their musical spirit was a very positive experience for me, and I continue to teach music privately in Hamden, CT.

I also do composition and recording work for television and other media on a freelance basis. My songs have been featured in the MTV shows ‘Catfish,’ and ‘One Bad Choice,’ as well as Nickelodeon’s ‘Webheads.’ I am equipped with a powerful home studio which allows me to produce professional sounding tracks at very competitive rates for whatever project you might have in mind. If you are interested in commissioning a piece, please feel free to email me. If you would like to listen to some samples of my work, head to my portfolio.

I’m proud to say that I have had a 100% retention rate with my students. I think this success stems in large part from my largely personal approach for each lesson. Every student I teach will get personalized, weekly lessons with a focus on that student’s particular interests. I have taught young children, teens, and adults and they all look to have promising futures on their instruments of choice. I genuinely enjoy what I do, and in my experience that leads to more fulfilling, and happy lessons.

Because I have a compositional background, I frequently will chat with my students and find out what they like to listen to and play, and then transcribe the music they like into sheet music they can learn to read. No music book purchases are necessary! I believe that it is my job to provide students with material to help them learn, which means that the only thing you will need to worry about spending money on is an instrument.

To ensure students understand the material I present, I will break down the techniques necessary to perform the songs we look at into manageable chunks. Learning chords, rhythms, or melody lines are all part of my holistic style at learning music. No student should feel overwhelmed in my lessons, as I ensure that their foundational knowledge of musical technique is strong.

The teachers who I found helped me the most in my own musical development were able to keep lessons relaxed, while also constantly pushing me to improve. I try my hardest to incorporate this style of teaching into my own lessons. I want my students to enjoy music as much as I do, and my teaching style is a reflection of that.

Whether you would like to learn a little bit about music or have professional music recorded and produced for your own project, I guarantee you will be satisfied working with me.
